Concerning oud and cumbus, is it correct to hold one's risha like cretan laouto players?

Hola Nouphar- There are some good postings with examples on holding the risha in the forum, try doing a search on 'risha'. Looks like the guy in the video clip is holding his risha sort of like a cigarillo...if it works for him then great. I've seen a few other oud players hold the risha like this, though it dosen't work for me personally. Whatever works for you and is comfortable :airguitar:

Comfort, in general, is a tricky thing. With comfort, you should seek control at the minimum effort (and minimum everlasting and agonizing pain).
