really wonderful - is that a Turunz oud? it sounds fabulous, there's a real edge to the sound but that would be the golden risha we're all hoping for !!

Thanks for bringing this back up the list. I just listened again and honestly, that's the best thing I've heard for quite a while. And he looks so young to be playing so maturely. No hope for a rapidly ageing amateur from Oxford then. Honestly, I want to burn my risha.

Just remember the word Amateur comes from the word 'amare' to love and literally means something like 'one who loves' ... long live amateurs especially those that are aging rapidly.

Wow! He sure puts playing oud in perspective for the rest of us! Did he study with YT? Nice sounding oud as well.
One theory I have on why guys like Onar are so good at an early age on the oud is that besides having the skill and sensitivity, they come from a culture where the oud is something they grow up with and see and hear all the time, and so it is 'in their blood' so to speak. 99% of all the young brilliant oud players I have seen have come from a country where the oud is commonplace. c'est la vie.
