Haha! It didn't sound like a very good Oud anyway. It's like the rock and roll of the Arab world, where you smash your instrument after playing (a few people commented on that).

Looks like a set up to me. I don't condone destruction of instruments, but it appeared to be a joke done for shock value. If it was an oud that wasn't defective or planned for a new face anyhow, then it seems like a foolish waste and in bad taste, but so is most slapstick humor.

What is truly disturbing is the racist comments posted in conjunction with it. Did you guys see those? Very alarming and hateful. I felt ashamed and angry... I love it when people like those, who watch David Letterman drop things over buildings, buy Pete Townshend and Jimi Hendrix records, attend auto races to see vehicles destroyed, and flock to movies where millions of dollars in materials are blown up and burned, call someone an "animal" or trash his whole culture for busting an oud.
