I love the way the woods are on the back of the bowl of the top oud. what woods are used? The inlay is also very tasteful on both.
Any of these one of your ouds? regards, MW

Ditto on the Walnut -- lovely psychadelic grain, and great workmanship on all the ouds too!
Thanks for the photos fadel !

Really beautiful ouds!
I like the walnut color ( and ribs adjustements ) on the bowl of the first one, the wood seems to be alive under the bright varnish. About the strings, are they passing through the floating bridge? I have never see that before....Or may be the bridge is deeply incised so we can see the strings "in" the bridge???
Give us more informations, please....
And sound clips if possible...
Thanks for giving these pictures.
Regards,
Francis

I like this guy's work - I think his work is much needed to restore peoples' faith in good old "Shaam" craftsmanship - It's very evindent in the nahatesque oud - but the bashir is very fine as well...

Fadel -

Hi Ibrahim.....

Thanks for sharing. Though I gotta say if there's anything working against this young and rather talented oud maker - its the english version of his website!

It's just a translation problem. Maybe someone here could volunteer a helping hand?

My guess is that his web program does an automatic translation into English and the programming is just BAD. I think if more of these yound oud builders in the Middle east had good English sites like Nazih and Maurice Shehata, they would do a big business just from our forum!

This thread is quite old, but I must've missed it, otherwise I would've definitely jumped in to show off my Zaher Khalefa oud (which is making me smile just a bit more every day!) :D:D Just looking at that flamed walnut back... and it sounds terrific too!

you'll find this one on page 3 on Zaher's website at "pro ouds" as well.

( excuse the lighting, it was very sunny!)
