anyone knows how to tie frets on an afghan rebab???


Hi! One of the frets of my rubab got broken and i discovered to have no idea about how to replace it! I hope to get some help!

Hi,
what kind of fret is it? Gut?
You can try the same knots as the ancient cello (viola da gamba) or renaissance lute if the strings are not too high from the fretboard.

I removed frets from mine but I did post a picture once of how to fret a persian tar or setar. If you search this forum, you'll find it. The frets on my robab had crude knots. You can also try the lute style knot if you're using a sinlge thick fret.
