Necati Çelik’s strings

I recently got 3 sets of Necati Çelik’s strings- classical Turkish- and my friends r using them.
One on Manol with Turkish tuning and the other on Nahat with Arabic tuning- both of my friends r used to play with Pyramid Lute (the "Rolls Roys" of the strings).
Both of them r very happy with the result (and the very decent price).
I think they will match and give very good sound in any Oud- any of u who has experience the strings is welcomed to reply.
And last i want to thank Jameel ( http://www.khalafoud.com/musicaravan.htm ) for offering the strings in such decent price and fast and reliable shipment.

No information regarding the tension of these strings. Strings are loose?

The diameters are similar to Kurshner No:0.10 strings, but the tension is quite higher
than all the strings I have used before including Pyramid Lute strings.
Because of high tension my old voiceless oud now sounds as a drum :)
I think the limitation of these strings is fingers are sticking a little when making glissando.
I think these strings may be a good choice for low tensioned voiceless ouds if the neck is strong enough.

Thanks for the feedback on the strings. I'll get back about tensions soon. I'm receiving very positive comments about these strings lately, from Turkish as well as Arabic players.

I'm wondering whether anyone has got a video or sound sample of this Necati Celik's string set? I would like to hear how it sounds actually.

Thanks in advance.

Necati is one of my favorite players. On another note whose ouds does he play?

While this thread is being resurrected I figured I'd mention that I recently purchased 3 packs of new Kurschner "ud strings" from Mustafa Copçuoğlu, the maker of my ud. They are being manufactured by a different person from what was being made just a few years ago though I don't know the whole story.

I've been using Pyramid Lutes for years and I have to say these Kurschners are really nice! They seem to be great quality and should last longer than I've expected from Kurschner. Tone is great, balance is great, they're way cheaper than Pyramid lutes. I think I prefer whatever the unwound D and A strings are to the Pyramid, I assume they are PVF. Only downsides: 1. they feel a little sticky under my fingers for glissando 2. tension feels a bit stiff and I miss the elasticity of the Pyramids.

So, any recent video of Necati Celik playing a Mustafa ud (which should be any video) will use this string set (which will be different than the Caravan strings mentioned in this early thread from 2009).
