Hi Mehmet,:wavey:

welcome!!!
You choose the right place. I`m only a few weeks here and allready get very helpfull info`s. There are many very nice people around here!!

You are very lucky to have a teacher like Mehmet POLAT :bowdown:in your area.

By the way:The size of the picture is very large. No chance to see the full oud in one piece and a lot of scrolling.
Please reduce the size so we can see the hole instrument.

All the best

Marcus

Playing the oud is like feeding my soul with peace

Hey Mehmet welcome. I've wanted to visit urfa for some time I hope this summer I will get the chance to travel around turkey in a van, if I have the time and money..

By the way how come your oud has single strings and not double? Do you always play like this?

Hey Masel,

if you go to Turkey Urfa is really a city what you have to see..

I just started to take oud lessons and it took to much time to tune every time so my teacher decide to play with single strings ,and when i have some experience i will switch to double strings.

with kind regards,

Hi Mehmet!
Welcome here.
I totally agree with Marcus. I have been here for less than 2 weeks, and already have learned a lot about what oud players think of strings, floating bridge, kind of wood etc...

This is a very nice oud you have! I love "simple" decorated ouds!
It would be interresting to hear a single string oud (I only heard it once before, on one of Charbel Rouhana's floating bridge oud's).
Could you please post a sound file? A simple one, just to hear the sound type!
Have fun on this sight

A good player can make a coffee can and a broomstick sound good, I still like the sound of double strings :)
