You know you're an Oud addict when you're more excited about seeing a Blondie Oud rather than a blondie girl!!

There'l be another blondie coming to Oxford - this one belongs to my mate Alfie who is just getting going on oud, and what better way to start than on
this fabulous one from Michael Moussa.
These photos where taken with my other blondies then round at Alfies place the other week. This was a 60th birthday present from Alfie to ... Alfie -
now there's wisdom in action.

Hi Alfie
Hello stranger lol.
Yes Charlie it is, its on (permanent) loan from a friend, great fun but I'm not really an electric guitar player ... I really enjoy it though and it
brings a different touch and sensitivity to technique so I cut loose with it sometimes. The flame maple blondie thing is purely coincidental, my
acoustic is a handmade guitar by a luthier in Salisbury called Nick Marchant, and the SG2000 was offered out of generosity (I kept complaining at the
woeful state of its manky old strings and kept offering to get new ones for him and restring it etc ).
My workroom looks a little sparser now Alfie's oud is with ... well Alfie of course
Cheers
Leon

Hi all you UK udis
Thanks for a fabulous meeting, especially to Dave H and his beautiful wife. Absolutely fantastic to meet you all - we need to do this more. I'll put
the images and video I've got onto a cd and send to Michael to put onto the web and we can link to here.
Next time I'm going to sort out a really good camera and we ought to sort out some way of good quality video and sound recording. There was some
terrific playing happening from everyone and it needs to be honoured.
LETS KEEP THIS GOING ... See you all soon

A BIG THANKYOU to Dave for hosting such a great meeting. It was truly fabulous and a feast for the ears and the eyes as well as excellent company. I
feel that I have learnt alot through listening and watching others playing. Its a great encouragement to practice more. I look forward to some
pics.
I'm sure we will keep this going and maybe post some ideas for songs/tunes to have a go at for next time.
Best wishes to everybody and hope that everyone got home safely.

Yup, arrived safely back in Bristol. Great to meet you all, and really great to hear everybody's playing and try out some lovely ouds. I was really
impressed by the standard of playing all round (note to self - practice more).
Many thanks, Dave, for organising, hosting and putting us all up - not to mention putting up with us all.
Maybe see you all 18-19 July?
Michael

No sooner said than done, Awad. Here's a few photos. Sorry, I don't really have any video clips worth sharing as my camera wasn't really up to it.
Hoping someone has better ones.
That was awesome. I get to play with about 10 fantastic ouds, sorry, oudists, and I didn't even have to leave my own home or wander the motorways
(like some!).
Special thanks to Osman for bringing Bashir Abbas, master instrumentalist, composer and King of Khoumassi, along. We all realise what a privilege
we've just experienced. Please thank him again for visiting us. I hope you can find some way of sharing the recordings you made.
It was great to finally meet you all and here's hoping we can manage a lot more opportunities to grow together as oudists.

Thank you Dave!! GREAT PICS! Of course, special thanks to Osman. As I said, it was a great honour to meet Bashir Abbas.
C'mon Dave though, give a video a try! Even if the video quality is bad, we can still hear something!! Please?!
