Hi,

The oud sounds wonderful, and your playing is really lovely.

I'm curious, was the maker the Greek? What more information do you have on the maker and his life?

Thanks,

mavrothis

Thank you guys! :)

I really don't know much about this maker but his craft style belongs to Aleppo and yes most probably he was from a Greek origin like few other Syrian Oud makers.

Dear Nizar:

Yes, this luthier is the father of Jameel Yourghaki Kandalaft, he had his workshop in Aleppo.

Dear Faladel,

Thank you for the information! I really didn't know that. The interesting thing is that the work of Yourgaki Antoun and (his son) Jameel Yourgaki Qandalaft seems to be so different! :)

Dear Nizar:

Yes, really, Antoine, the father, was a normal luthier, his style is the same that Antoine Abras has copied or is similar to some ouds of Gerogy Hayek although the latter it was a big luthier, although the sound of your oud is fantastic. Antoine has made few oud and has lived in Aleppo a little time, No like his son, who has lived through a lot of time and has died in Aleppo.
