off topic: starting to consider selling my Hemen sarod

Hello,
as I'm completely intoxicated by the oud and my time is not plenty enough to play both: oud and sarod:
This actually a crime: there is this wonderful one piece sarod made by Mr. Hemen Senior and hand selected by Ken Zuckerman (a famous sarod player and former student of Ali Akhbar Khan, and that's from whom I bought it),, sitting in my room and beeing n o t often played. This instrument is really a Stradivarius of SAROD and must be played - and I love it, but ... the time in my life is limited.

So if anybody would be really interested to play this wonderful instrument, please let me know

Hello, I forgot to talk about the price:

It would be 2,600 Euro plus insured shipping fee plus money transfer fee if it's from outside germany or the EC countries (it could go via PayPal) ... firm. That's what I payed for it including a case ...

I think this is a very fair price for this instrument.

Pics and recording on demand

best wishes
Robert

Hi Robert!

Hey, if you don't have time for both oud and sarod why don't you try a ragmakamtar? :D

...just kidding, but wow that sounds like a wonderful sarod!!

Hi Edward, I have a lot of time but a lot of service to do...;-)

It is a wonderful sarod indeed and I do love the sound, but:

- I have found ot that the way my hands work the sarod is an exceedingly difficult instrument motorically for me
- it kind of served as a catalysator to find my connection with the oud so I'm fully satsfied having made that connection. It's not so much goal oriented with me anyway...

thanks for your participation

best wishes
Robert

Hi Edward, I did see some Yutubes about your ragmakamtar - it actually exists!!!

I first thought it was a joke or a mythical metaphor like the Wishfulfilling Tree - an instrument having all the sounds and properties one could wish for as a mulitinstrumentalist, unified in one instrument - and there it is --- amazing!

Did you build it by yourself or was it built according to your specs?
What was your basic idea behind it?

best wishes
Robert
