New Bashir - cedar top in perfect condition

New Bashir style oud for sale.
I have settled on one that I play and would like to sell this new oud.
Walnut bowl with Ebony pegs, finger bord and wrist guard.
Cedar sound board - open grain.. this does not have a clear coat to the sound board which some people prefer. If I were to keep I would apply a sealant to protect from oils.
List priced new without case at $1600.00, asking $1200.00 and includes a fiberglass Fender case.
No scratches or blemishes of any kind - this is essentially a brand new professional level oud.
Crafted by Yildirm Music. Comes with two bridges. First is original by maker and is low but could use adjustment to the string grooves to settle the strings in better. Second it what is on it now which is higher and offers room to adjust to your own strung height and playing style.
Would prefer to sell in the USA.
$1200.00 + shipping

Hi Sam

Yes, very nice tone even new... the cedar top (an upgrade) will open and get rich warm tones as it ages with play.
I am selling because I already have one (yes - I know, the question remains... one is enough?).

I would like to see this go to a home where it is the focus and receives the constant attention it should have.

Nice oud!

Am I wrong or the oud seems to be made out of Venge (Aka: vengi, wenge) and not Walnut.

beautiful wood for sure.

Hi Sam

Mmmmmmmm - I thought it was walnut. I will have to go back and see if I can find my order information. I also do not know the wood that is used in between the ribs.. the lighter wood.
All aside, if it does not sell, I will give the cedar top a clear coat to protect the open grain and enjoy.

Hello Fadel!!

Very nice oud!
I like how the sound board finish has given it a warm honey color.
The photo make you want to reach out and play it.
Oud are very addictive!

Hi Todda,

Fadel's oud soundboard was not finished initially.

I french polished it lightly myself for him.. not more than 5 coats, mainly to seal the wood from dirt and moisture. I used amber shellac to give the honey hue with only few coats.

Cheers!

I hope this price reduction will entice a buyer.

This new bashir oud asking $1000.00

If bought is the USA, I will cover UPS ground shipping service.
Sorry - I will need to ask for shipping funds if purchased to ship overseas.

Hi Funkstone
Yes - I will get scale length for clarification.
To help with the shipping statement, I live in Washington state (USA). I will pay UPS Ground shipping to the lower 48 continental states.
All other shipping would need to be included in the sale price.

Very clean, nice aesthetics, low action and clear tone.

An update.
I have spent that last few days adding a hand rubbed clear finish to the cedar top. It now has a honey gold clear protective finish.
I have not placed the protective guards back on, as I think the oud has a very clean and classic look without them.
It looks more like the photo that Fadel has posted in this thread (but it does not have the center pick guard.

I will get a photo up later today if the sun comes out for good lighting.

Photo with new hand rubbed clear coat.
I have saved the upper bout guard and lower wrist guard if these are wanted.
I prefer the look without, and the new clear coat protects the tone wood.
