Starting out and pegbox
Hi all.
I have experience violin-making and have all the tools for that.
Now I have considered making a oud.
What are some good pointers on getting started as far as information and books. What is your guide? What are your templates?
Also, a question I have about the pegbox itself. On a violin, the neck and peg box are all carved from the same block. Obviously you cant carve the
neck and pegbox from the same block. But has anyone carved the pegbox out of one piece? I've seen it done in a 5 pieces or so. Thanks.

I am relatively new to Oud, but from what I have read, you will probably need Dr. Oud (Richard Hankey)'s book which can be found at http://www.droud.com/book.htm. Good Luck!
