might actually have a positive impact on the tone. Not nearly enough to counter the gold inlay on the fingerboard, the gold leaf on the back, the gems
in the rosette, or the weight of the solid ebony neck though.

Okay...at first I was just kidding about the mammoth ivory nut's preported age -- an ivory nut (of any age) -- definitley has an effect on the tone.
