I think it is really a challenge to repair such damages.might be more difficult than building a new one.But as you said the meaning is particular
Good luck

A family instrument is too important to remain like this.
You have to take it back to music!
A devoted luthier is able to give it a new life.

And don't let your oud get into more fight...

In California a luthier would have an obligation to report you to the cops and check you wife's head for oud marks.

Hi,

UPDATES,
9 new ribs needed to replace broken ones. Back is completed but did not sand it yet.

Some Notes: I had left the Oud once outdoor which had effected some ribs due to fog. :(

I may had used a lot of glue!

The repair went (somewhat) smooth so far, I will be installing a new Soundboard, and finger board to be repaired.

I did a video, not sure if the vid helps but just did it for fun  . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwMqleuFuv0

Great project, great video and most great background music!
Every video of construnting or repairing a musical instrument is always useful.
I am waiting for the next ones, and a taqsim of course of the finished instrument.

Thanks for the video, I love the hi-tech bending system and clamps!:D

Next time I think I can't start a project because I don't have the right tools I will watch this and be inspired!

:applause: Bravo!
