Bint Shalabiya by Oudproff

Hello Oudies, hello Oudproff :wavey:

I´m trying to learn Bint Shalabiya, using the youtube video

A few questions coming up.
Oudproff: Which tuning did you use, and, if I may ask, do you have a recording of the song without effects?

All: Do anybody have a recording,or even a video, of the song and is willing to post it here?

Unfortunately I can`t read notes, so I`m depending(?) on ears and eyes.

The Iraqi tuning is given, but while the intervals are correct, it is actually a whole tone lower.

I'm not shure about this as I know which strings Husain uses:

the 1116 he has gives the following tensions
with the C 45 Newton
with the A 32 Newton

You see the big difference, and with the A is does absolutely not fint to the tensions of the other strings. But Nop problem, I will ask him as I have to write him anyway these days.

Hi Matthias,

perhaps he uses the A tuning on another oud,- but if you watch his fingers and listen in that clip it is clear what tuning he is using.

I use the same tuning and I play that tune, so I know the fingering for the notes.

He uses that tuning in all the clips from that particular concert.
