Hi,
1.
Just wondering, what's the difference in musical notations on sheet music for the oud and other stringed instruments, or say wind instruments? From
what I've read, it seems there's a difference in octave but I don't understand why.
2.
I'm looking for "soude soude" an Armenian melody. I've tried a few google results but can't find it.
Thanks

Bonjour,
Each instrument has its own musical range or its own "voice" : http://www.dolmetsch.com/musictheory29.htm#top and http://www.dolmetsch.com/musictheory26.htm#soundingclefs
For example, to play a violin partita from J.S. Bach with a guitar is possible. But to do it, you have to transcribe it for the "guitar voice". Bach
has written his partitas for a violin, not for a piano forte or a viola. Their musical range are different as their sound.
The Bach partitas exists for guitar, you can try to transpose them for oud. A very good exercise I think.
