Hi folks,
A female oud player from Tunisia was featured on a radio programme here yesterday. I didn't catch her name, but her style was vaguely similar to
Naseer Shamma's, but a bit more spaced out. Any ideas as to who this might be?
If you're interested, you can listen to the broadcast on the BBC Radio 3 Late Junction website:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/latejunction/
Choose Thursday's programme, and fast forward to about 01:15:00 when the media player comes up (the oud comes after a harpsichord track).

Hi Chuckerbutty
The complete programme schedule for the week's 'Late Junction' shows is listed here:

Apparently, the oud player you heard was called Yousra Dhahbi:

Hi David
Cheers for that. I didn't know that the Late Junction schedule gets posted on the website - I'll know what to look out for now!

Sounds amazingly like a tamed version of Naseer Shamma

She really sounds great, thanks so much for sharing. I really hope more women get into playing oud. This is really beautiful.

She's a friend to Yaroub Fadel and play on his ouds.
