6 week session / 6:30 - 9:00 pm (6 Fridays)
The Middle Eastern Drumming Class covers different styles of classical & folkloric rhythms from different parts of the Arab world such as Egypt,
Syria, Iraq and the Arabian Gulf Countries. Using traditional & popular Middle Eastern hand drums such as the Darabukka or the Egyptian Tabla
(goblet drum), Riqq (tambourine) and Bendir (frame drum), or students can bring their own drum. Occasionally, the class might include live music
performed by the instructor or other visiting artists, a good chance for students to drum along and to accompany musicians playing different types
of instrumental or vocal music.
Fee: $72 paid to City Of Los Angeles, DCA
