Our friend, the known oud maker and composer Michael Musa has organized an oud workshop at his lovely house and invited Adel Salamah. Adel oud playing
was out of this world. His teaching was so professional and interesting that I wished the day had never ended. Here is a taster with Adel playing
Robaeyat Alkhiam. This video was recorded using i phone

Fantastic - I wish I could have been there, I got your email just as I'd got back from a short holiday - a bit more notice would be really helpful but
of course I know this isn't always possible. Top guys the lot of you.
I also missed Adel down here (at Havant) so not a great score from team Leon. We've got to organise another meeting soon, Summer
hols we are away for most of it but how about Autumn or before the end of July?

hi guys, too short a notice for me to get there- Michael, please let us know a wee bit sooner ( if possible) when you have a guest oud player passing
through!
Ararat66 - 6-7-2011 at 05:45 AM
I forgot to say that Michael Moussa is one of the most hospitable people you will ever meet and it is quality from all involved that makes the
meetings so special.
I know what I am missing when I miss one

I always love watching Adel play. Such emotion and deep intimacy with the oud and his music.

Adel is such an amazing and passionate musician.

When Adel plays the robaeyat khayam in the first clip what oud is he using?
Adel Salameh - 8-5-2011 at 02:06 AM
Hello,
the oud that I am playing is made in 2008 by Wolfgang Fruh in Paris.
Best wishes,
Adel

Thanks Adel.
It is one of the purer sounds I have heard in a long time.
My only hope now is to find a oud with a similar sound but for around the 700-1000usd mark. I don't know if it will be possible though.
