Dear oud freaks,
greetings to you all. I have recently bought a wonderful second-hand oud which unfortunately has some problems to be taken care of.
Thing is, many liuthers and guitar repairers in the area where I live (West Sussex, United Kingdom), have never dealt with an oud before and are quite
fearful to give it a go in fixing it, as they are quite rightly scared of damaging it permanently.
Now, does anybody out there know of some liuthers who deal specifically with ouds, ideally in the West Sussex area but even in London would be quite
welcome?
I'd be very grateful if you could help me.
Thank you, kind regards
Giorgio

You might consider contacting some of the many established lute makers in London and surrounding areas many of whom offer repair and set up work for
lutes and related instruments so would be able to undertake oud repairs as well.
An up to date list of lute makers can be found here:

Hi Giorgio
Where are you in West Sussex, I'm next door in sunny !!! Portsmouth. I'm not a luthier but have played a while and may be able to point you in the
right direction - depends on the problem you have and if it is Arabic fixed or floating bridge or Turkish/Greek/Armenian type oud etc.
Oud freak is absolutely the right way to address the forum btw.
Cheers
