Me too, but regarding their website and those rosettes, they are very experienced. And a good lute luthier should be able to repair an oud too.

If they can't repair a oud, who can?

The real question is : will they want?

Barber and Harris are well established luthiers but may be too busy to bother with oud or lute repairs?

You can find a list of lute makers willing to do repairs here

Dear littleseb,
I sympathyse with your plight, finding an oud repairer even in a big city like London is a desperate effort. However, if you're prepared to go out in the sticks, there's a great liuthier (he deals mainly in lutes and similar) who has performed an excellent job on my oud (got rid of a terrible unnerving buzzing between the neck and the rosette, fixed cracks in the pegbox and got the pegs in workable conditions, gave it a general polish and shake-up and made it sing like a bird, basically), he's really committed to his art and the prices are very reasonable indeed (for all that I only paid £100). His name's Bob Alexander and he lives in Horsham, West Sussex. Tel no. 0044 01403 251 747. Email rka2@supanet.com. You can find his address in the Register of Makers and Members of the Lute Society (that's how I found him). It's worth giving him a ring, I am sure you won't be disappointed.
Good luck

P.S. I actually found the liuthier I was talking about in my earlier post in the very same list mr. jdowning kindly sent me, for which I catch the opportunity to thank him profusely again. It took me a while and a few telephone calls, but eventually I found the solution to my problem, thanks again for the list, has been a lifesaver as far as my oud was concerned. It's a small world indeed! Also, thanks again to Chris from Germany for his advice on Michael Moussa.
Greetings to you all oud brothers and sisters

In London- contact Mike Cameron- he has been fixing, building and repairing stringed instruments including ouds and old guitars, vihuelas and lutes for a long time. He used to work for Hobgoblin Music but has since set up on his own and has amazing workshop. He is in Camden Town. call him on 07581 425731. You can always visit his workshop and discuss your oud needs, and then take it from there.
