Hello fellow oud enthusiasts...
A few years ago I obtained a strange oud from Haig Manoukian. It was made in Izmir, Turkey by a maker named Sehit (S - cedilla). It's not in
great cosmetic condition, and has been put back together a few times, but I really, really like this instrument and play it all the time. I would
estimate that it was made about 30 years ago, but there is no date inside the instrument.
I'm writing since I've found no mention of this maker ever on the boards, and during two trips to Turkey and visits to many oud makers never
have come across references to Mr. Sehit. Anyone heard of him? Anyone else have one of his instruments?
Thanks,
-eliot

Thanks so much, Haluk - I'll probably be in Izmir next summer and will look him up if I can!
