Hey guys, Im the one who started that one thread about the khalifeh oud restoration, anyway does anyone know of a shop in LA that caries any ouds (be
them armenian or arabic) Im in LA for acouple of days and want to do some window shopping... Im going back to the bay area tomarrow (saturday).

Hi Tarik,
Check out the Folk Music Center in Claremont. It is about an hour east of L.A., but it will be worth the time. They usually have a few ouds there, and they have
a huge amount of other insturments from around the world. Rufi works there, and he would be a great guy to meet when/if you go.

Thank you Mike, your in LA huh? Im trying to spend some more time down here sooner or later, I might be moving here in the next few months or so- Im
really interested in starting some type of a tarab(esque) circle, with folks- we have a dope fusion jam session in SF every other friday- The
invitation is open for any oud nuts that want test there skills in non-traditional areas- Its all about fun... Anyway thanks Mike, and if people are

Just in case you wanted a tidbit of trivial information, the Folk Music Center and Musuem in Claremont was founded by Ben Harper's grandparents.
