local blues/jazz festival

i just posted this to the lute list but if you think it applies to you and your oud, please consider it:

i proposed this last year but perhaps it may be of
interest to propose it again.

every summer we have a small jazz festival in our
town, sarteano (pop.: 4000-something) in tuscany in
the prov. of siena. i talked to sergio bologni, the
local chemist who organizes the festival, about having
a lute player as part of the program and he seemed to
like the idea.

there were two of you(se) who responded favorably last
time and i've received two more positive responses
this time, so...

if you've ever toyed with the idea of broadening the
repertoire a bit and venturing into the white,
uncharted areas of the musical map, this could be an
opportunity to make it pay.

please have a look at this:

if you would care to - and have the recording
facilities to do so - please send a sample cd of your
music to sergio (he's the one eating watermelon) at
the sarteanojazz address. there's no reason why you
should, but please feel free to mention my name.

fees and what not are to be discussed with sergio but
if you were to consider the trip here as more of a
paid holiday than just another venue on your
mega-world tour, it could work out very nicely.

personally, i find the idea of some soft, soulful
lute-ations in the piazza on a warm summer evening to
be a very pleasing prospect.

sincerely - bill
