hello,
Okay their are choices out there depending on a few things. If you only know english or live in a country that only speaks english than your choices
are few but are there all the same. From a company called Lark in the Morning ( http://www.larkinam.com)their is one book and one video that they have. The book is called "Elementary Course of Study for the Oud" by Fred G.
Elias. The video is called "Overview and Instruction for the Oud" by John Vartan.
Another place that would carry an oud book is Viken Narjaran who is a luthier and has made a booklet called "Oud Made Easy". It might be out of
print but check at his web page (http://www.oud.net) and see if he still sells it.
Now if you know turkish then two avenues exist. One you can get the book "Ud Metodu" by Mutlu Torun. This book is in Turkish and has lots of tunes
in there. Their is also a cd called "Ud Egitim Metodu". This is a VCD which can be found, probably on this list if you ask, or you can try at Lark
in the Morning if you wish. They might have it and yet they might not. It is a 4 cd set where the first vcd is in English but the rest is in Turkish.
Again, depending on your language skills and how adventurish you feel this might be an option for you. Otherwise stick with this list as if
something new does come out than all of us will know and all of us will prosper together.
I hope that that helps you in any way. :-)
