Hey,
I found this pic in Dr. Munir N. Beken's CD liner notes. All these years I never thought about who might have made this ud, but now I can definitely
recognize it. It looks just like mine! 
I believe this was Cinucen
Tanrikorur's last instrument, which Dincer Dalkilic made for him. I got a chance to play another ud Dincer had made for Cinucen Tanrikorur in the
past, before the latest one seen in the picture below. Very beautiful.

Tanrikorur was a good friend of Simon Shaheen, and on Blue Flame you can hear a composition by Tanrikorur. It's a Samai, but it's called Bosphorus
Scenes Under the Moonlight. One of the best on the album.

This oud is now in my possesion.This oud was the first one I made for Cinucen. The second and last one is now belongs to Cinucen's dear wife Mrs
Barihuda Tanrikorur and being played by his best student ( as he told me) Miss Basak Ilhan, who has a degree of Phd in music.
Every year I perform maintaining sevice on both ouds. I have pictures of the second oud but they are not digital so I dont know wether I can put in
this forum.

I met Simon on Istanbul and became friends with him by Cinucen who asked me to go to Simon's concert and meet him. He also said to me that the
coordination of both hands on oud of Simon is the best.

I believe I saw him play this oud in concert in 1996... the picture is a little unclear, though (as is my memory)...
He was quite a composer in addition to his oud playing. He wrote a couple Mevlevi ayin that are simply stunning...

Wow,
That's crazy. It's a really beautiful instrument with a very sweet sound. The bowl is designed to be a little flatter in the back so it's more
comfortable to hold (my instrument has a traditional full/deep bowl - bigger sound, still comfortable). You can hug the shallower ones more easily
though, it's a very nice feeling.
Sorry the pic isn't very clear, it was a small b/w picture from a CD booklet, so that's the best I could do for you. It just shows the general look
of the oud. It is also paduk I believe, but it's older now so the paduk has become a beautiful deep brown color.
Mr. Tanrikorur's style and compositions are really amazing, I hope to explore them more. This is the direction I would like my own playing to take,
more feeling/thought in each note.

This is the amazing life of the oud players and makers.The maker gives the soul to the instrument,and the player is the master of the sound .

I've always said you were instrumental in many -good- ways. C.Tanrikorur
plays very warm music, I like his vision of the Turkish style. I can recognize a small passage in the Nehawand Samai (the last file). Simon Shaheen
played something similar, on Jameel's oud. All in all, it's a different perspective...and I like it.
I want to thank Mavrotis for this insight.

Yes, Simon did play that on my oud that night. Hmmm that night, an incredible couple of hours. Very enjoyable. This is oud is now in the hands of
Jonathan Varjabedian. It had such a nice Turkish feel, I admit I miss it. But hopefully my next one will sound good.
Speaking of Tanrikorur. Here is Simon playing that Nahawand Samai. (part of it) He gives it his own flavor, and it's pretty tasty at that!
