I have a cassette recording of Abdel Majid Abdallah which is oud and voice only. My Arabic skills are pretty basic, but the title looks like "Kalamah
Ihabek" or something like that. I would love to purchase a CD of this beautiful recording before my cassette wears out.
Does anyone know where I can find it? I have already looked on Maqam.com, Rashid.com, ArabicMusicDirect.com, etc. but can't find it.
Is it out of print? Help!!!

Hi John
Not sure if it is any use, but I found a list of audio files for Abdel Majid Abdallah here:
Perhaps some of the songs you are looking for will be amongst them.
All the best

Hi David,
Thanks--I'll take a look. Is it possible to burn that kind of audio file to a to CD-rom that would be playable on a stereo system?
I'm a bit of a neo-Luddite...
Thanks.

Hi,
A program called "total recorder" will let you record any file while it's playing on your machine. Check out: http://www.highcriteria.com/ for more info.

Actually, you can do the same thing with the standard Windows sound recorder. The quality is not terrific, but would be the same for all methods of
recording whilst playing back. There are methods for capturing "real" audio directly from sites that are designed to be played only. A great method
