Hello everyone,
I just wanted everyone to know how much I have been enjoying listening to Adel Salameh's CD called Maitre du Oud. If anyone is interested, it
is on a label called Sunset-France, but was leased from a japanese label called Pastorale Sound Co. Ltd. in Japan. The recording quality is very good
and the sound of his oud is beautiful. Great playing and composition!
Cheers,
Roy

Hi. I have to say I feel extremely lucky to have met Adel and his wonderful wife Naziha in Egypt these last few weeks. He is a true virtuoso and
plays with his whole heart. I don't know if I've ever met anyone who loves the oud more than Adel, and I have to thank him and his wife for
the beautiful music they made for us and for all their advice and support. Thanks so much!
It would be great to hear some classical pieces by Adel on a future recording, but whatever he chooses to do, it is always very high quality.
By the way Jean Luc, I got a chance to check out your new oud and it is amazing. Congrats!!
take care,
mav

Mav, glad to see that you made it back alright. I hope your trip went well. Did you get to go oud crazy there and buy like nuts?
You're gonna have to tell me about all that stuff soon. Welcome back.

hi Mav and everybody,
i'm glad you could meet Adel and Naziha during your trip in Cairo, and I completely agree with what u say. I was told by Adel it was a nice
meeting with Mike and you all . I guess Cairo is the right place to hear good arabic music, specially when it's brilliantly played .
yes, due to their kindness i'm the lucky owner of a very promissing oud ;it's about time to play now!
it's very encouraging to see what can be done, even if the road seems long sometimes.

hi.
yes, i agree. the practice and work can often be some of the most enjoyable part of playing i think. i know you will be inspired by your beautiful
new oud.
as for meeting with adel, it's a great advantage to see and hear up close an amazing virtuoso, and then talk with him over time about ouds and
music in general. if i absorbed 1% of what i saw and heard, it's a huge lesson.
also, i think i've started to understand how rich arabic music is, much more than i did before. i hope to expand my limited education much
further over time.
i'll be posting pictures of the trip on my site soon. thanks to mike and his wonderful family, adel and naziha, mr. shehata, joseph tawadros,
and everyone who made this trip amazing.

Hi Mav & everybody,
thanks for puttin' some photos in your site. i'm eager to see that.
sure arabic music is quite rich , though it might seem simple at first sight !personaly,I find it fascinating the way it finds its way all with and
trough its intricate patterns....as it were
much subtleness and nuances are the characteristics to my eyes!
