Recently I ordered some La Bella strings for one of my ouds from Jameel. I just want to recommend this set to anyone who uses the tuning F A D G C F.
The oud has 61.5 vibrating string lenght. This set is absoultely perfect for those of you who prefer the loose brittle old style Arabic sound. The
response is slightly delayed and not as immediate as say that of Aquila strings, if that makes any sense...which again is a big plus for old school
arabic sound.
Thank you Jameel, package arrived safe and soud and fast!

Have you found the quality of these to be consistent? I used to use Labella for Arabic tuning (lower tuning), but the last 4 sets I've used (I
purchased them from Big City strings in the 2002-2005 period of time) had terrible quality control. In one set, the 4ths were wound differently, the
2nds were different gauges, and one of the 3rds broke after only a week. All 4 sets had similarly inexcusable problems. I stopped using LaBella for
this reason.

I have those on one of my ouds right now...
it love the way they coated the trebles with somekind of graphite material.
just glides under your fingers.
never had that problem yet Eliot but I can see how it could happen with there wounds.
one thing for sure though the wounds dont last as long as pyramid or aquilas.

Yeah I'm not sure what you mean by a lower tuning Eliot, however for the standard arabic/egyptian fadgcf tuning they seem fine. It may have something
to do with the vibrating string length...
and yes the trebles have that special touch to them...very smooth
