Hello to all.
I have a Sukar 14 oud (my first oud....yay!)and enjoy playing/learning immensely.However do become irritated with my slipping peg situation.
I have read many of the threads discussing this issue,but my question is about bone pegs.
Are they indeed better in not slipping or sticking?
My thoughts tell me that,once properly installed,they are.
I really like the stark contrast of the white pegs and I am seriously considering ordering a set from Jameel's website.
I usually do minor stuff to my flamenco guitars but I think I would rather take my oud to a reliable luthier to do this for me as well as make a
bone nut.
I do indeed enjoy this forum...I have learned a great deal here.

Doesn a bit of chalk application solve the slipping problems of the pegs??
Evidently this is meanwhile you await the jameel's bone pegs....so you do not stop playing and enjoying yr Sukar oud.

I think if you like the look of the bone pegs, go for it. They are trickier to fit, but they do tune with a smoother feel. If you look at vintage
instruments, many used bone friction tuners, especially early American guitars and banjos. It's a good peg material. But since I can fit wood pegs, I
would let the look of bone vs. wood dictate my choice before function.
