Here are some old photos I have from some of my late Grandfather's old things. These are from a magazine put out by Alamphon records Brooklyn,
NY. I figured out that the one of the young man is the Prince of Buzuq Abdel Karim. Ok, I don't read arabic all that well, I don't practice
much, so I hope some of you native speakers here can lend a hand. Who is the oud player in the group shot, and the lady oud player? I hope someone can
shed some light. The long line of arabic is the caption from the bottom of the group shot.

Great photos Jameel.
Here's what the caption says,
"The Middle Eastern Ensemble that played and recorded new records for Alamphon using a new plastic disc." (i.e. LPs)
Not an exact translation, but that is the gist of it. Thanks for sharing these.

Very nice pictures Jameel, thanks. It's really cool to see the woman oud player too. I wish we had more today.

hi Mav, & everybody,
there was a blind algerian lady called "reinette l'oranaise" ( little queenie from Oran) who used to play oud (mostly arabo-andalou
style ) & sing as well...she came to live in france after the algerian war and died a few years ago here...

Best I can tell the picture says her name is :
Taghrid Mouhamad
The writing around the picture is just more advertising for Alamphon records
