Couldn't find this with a site search or in the FAQs thread:
What is the most elegant way to tie strings to the bridge?
I like the appearance of the single loop, but haven't figured out how to get the end to go down and sideways neatly. No matter how long I stare at
the photo on oud cafe, I still can't figure out the "knot" on my own.
It looks like there is no knot at all, but when I string my oud that simplest way (thru the hole, back over the bridge, under the vibrating string,
back over bridge with a single tuck under the first loop) the loops passing over the bridge don't lie parallel, but are rather v shaped.
Is the loop really that simple? Do I just need to manipulate it a little after tuning to tension to get the loops parallel and the free end to lie
flat?
Next time I am in the presence of a master (going to watch Afif Taian this week) I will ask this stupid question. Maybe this technical tip belongs
in the FAQ category?

Hey Michael,
Bring your oud with you this week. If you want to come over to my place a little early, I'll be happy to restring the oud for you. Maybe we can
carpool to the show.
Take care,
Mike
