Luthier review

I am thinking of getting my first oud from http://www.eraydinsazevi.com.tr/ and I wanted to know if anyone had pics/sound clips from one that they have bought from there. Also, any feedback and feelings about the instrument would help. Thanks!

hi Loshem. quite a few members in this forum have gotten their first or a second oud from Haluk. Try doing a search on Haluk Eraydin and you'll get all the feedback you will probably need. I bought two no. 2 ouds from him myself though my main oud is made by Nazih Ghadban. Haluk is not only a helpful and friendly person to deal with, but his ouds are excellent value for money and he has been making them longer than most members of the forum have been alive. My second Haluk oud has an all mahogony bowl with a 39mm nut, 58.5cm string scale and I have no complaints. Of course it won't sound or play like any oud costing $1000-$1500-$2000 and upwards, but I would recommend this same oud with these same specs to anyone starting out on a limited budget. If you can afford his oud no.3 then so much the better. Hope this helps. Keep us posted with your news, and keep asking questions. This is the best way to find out what is out there and what you want, and hey maybe other members will respond as well! Come on guys!:airguitar:

NOTE: Sadly, Master Haluk Eraydin has passed away since this posting. He will be missed by many of us.

Dear All,
Haluk has disappeared since 3 weeks now, I tried to contact him several times , also with the help of Yori (from Mundo instruments) but no answer, it's a total mystery.. I was supposed to receive a new oud from him this week...:(

Expect he's still alive...
