Hi all...Just wondering why pyramid lute strings cost more than other brand. It appears that ordering a pyramid set cost the double of any other
brand. Beside the sound quality are they long lasting?

Hi O, If you are refering to "Pyramid lute strings" they are more expensive because they are custom gauges of various diameters and tensions. They are
wound quite fine and were developed by Pyramid and European lute players who play fingerstyle using flesh of the finger not fingernails. These strings
were never intended for the oud or to be struck with a risha. Many people prefer them to the standard Pyramid oud string sets. The sets are by the
same manufacturer but designed solely for oud use. The sets are inexpensive and for me the "Orange label" set is excellent, I much prefer them to lute
strings and they last as long. Just my opinion mind. Regards C.

I don't think Pyramids are all that expensive; a small cost, percentage-wise, considering the price of a good instrument. I change my fiddle strings
every six months, and they're $45 a set - and going up! I think it's playing small to have a racehorse and then worry about the price of oats.
I could've missed an important point here, of course. And I'm not a paid shill for Pyramid ...
