I seem to remember that there may have been a thread on this o few years ago but a quick search didn't turn up anything...
I've picked up a few Sukar's lately and I noticed that the string knots were somehow different. I fooled around with this a bit (I'm terrible with
knots) and figured it out. Hard to put into words but after the first loop is made instead of making the next loop in the same direction, you come
through the loop "backwards". Note how the string now comes out the top of the loop instead of the bottom. The knot on the plain strings is cleaner -
no multiple wraps needed and seems to hold just fine even with the slippery flurocarbon strings. The knots pull up just like a conventional wrap for
string height adjustment and seem to hold fine if the string tension is removed (say to loosen all the strings to take the nut off for adjustment). In
any case if you like playing with knots you may find this to be an interesting alternative. I hope the picture makes thing clearer.
