Hello Robert,
Thomastic has a short information policy. Once I did the same as you but had the luck tu receive an answer about the strings. The result could be find
in my PDF file about the different aoud strings from the various producers. This file can be downloaded from my website. This file contais
additionally a lot of own sets for the aoud I composed during the past. Have a look into.
But comming back to your question: The Thomastik set has the following data:
Thomastik Infeld http://www.thomastik-infeld.com
scale length: 62 cm
note | item No | string | Diam. in mm | Tension Newton | Tension lbs
cc | 310 | Plain nyl .66 | 5,5(37) | 12,12
gg | 311 | Plain nyl .85 | 6(36) | 13,22
dd | 312 | Plain nyl 1.05 | 4,5(31) | 9,9
dd | 317 | wound 0.59 | 40 | 8,8
AA | 313 | wound .725 | 33 | 7,27
G (F) | 314 | wound .82 | 40 (39) | 8,8
F | CR43 | wound
Set TH-315 1st - 3rd plain strings
Set TH-315A 3rd wound
The two values in the tension column means: first value is by Thomastic, 2nd value is my calculation.
I just hade a phone with Thomastic to take the information about the three gauges of this set. The above given tensions are from the medium set. The
light set has 15% less tension and the heavy set has 15% more.
Hope that helps you all.
If you need these strings, you can get it through my shop. The medium set I will always have on stock.
Best regards
