Hi,
I just got these oud pegs for my lute.....I bought a new set of classical guitar strings.....I can't get the 1st,2nd,and 3rd strings to hold on to the
pegs.....these pegs don't have holes in them.
How do you guys do it ? Or do I need to drill hole into these pegs...?
Is there a way to tie the string around the peg to make it happen ?
The other 3 strings I don't have a problem with ....just the first 3....
I've tried to look up tuning an oud online....but no one has this information....
Please Help......
Thanks

Hi Michelle!
I have never seen oud pegs WITHOUT holes!!
Where did you get yours?!
Contact khalaf luthier (Jameel). He has topp quality oud pegs, and is a very helpfull man.
good luck
P.S. Oud pegs on guitar is a good idea you came up with, Michelle :-) I never heard of it being done before! Can you post pictures when done?

Sure....I got these on online at http://www.khalafoud.com/pegs.htm and they can with no holes.......this is the same place your talking about right....?
Any other places....or should I contact them.....should they have put the holes in for me ?

Yes it is the place!
My guess is that he makes them without holes because the widness on pegboxes varies from oud to oud. So that you could have told him what is the
deepth on yours.
I advice you to tolk to Jameel and ask him what you should do. He is very helpfull. And I am sure you'll get best help there. (I have bought from him
a couple of times. And I was very pleased).
Good luck again
