I would like to ask whether a yaroubfadel oud or a shehata oud would be better for me to buy based on these factors:
1)do not usually play masri songs
2)play more of yemeni type songs
3)on a budget of abt $600US - 900US
Hope that you can help me!!THANKS!!!

Hi,
Yaroub ouds are really good. And to be fair, I never used Shehata ouds so i can not judge them.
are you beginner or professional player?
If you are profestional player, then $600 is too low for good oud quality.
Thanks

shehata oud for an intermediate player?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

Comparing a Shehata with a Yaroub is like trying to compare apples with oranges - they're completely different animals! (the ouds that is
)
Yaroub builds ouds more suitable to the Iraqi schools - listen to Shamma. While Shehata builds a wide range of different ouds - his instruments are
more suited to the more typical syrian/egyptian styles of playing. But having said that - Ahmad Fathi the famous Yemeni player always uses a
Shehata.
Maybe for a beginner instrument you can look at those $500 ouds Shehata is offering. They're selling like cupcakes!

hey Prince- Shehata ouds are great for beginners, as well as pros, all depends what you have him make for you. You might need a bit more than $600 if
you consider shipping and a case. Yaroub ouds are out of your budget. if you want Maurice to make you up an oud within your budget, contact Mike ( of
mikeouds), he is very helpful....see this post-
