Hi everybody. First post and all
. I've recently been getting back into playing
the oud after a hiatus of a few years, and am looking for new strings. My oud came with the three trebble courses having these nylon strings that were
apparently somewhat thicker than normal because no other set I've tried sounds as fat as them; this oud was bought from egypt a long while ago.
Secondly, where can I get a second-thinnest course wound? Or at least, I think it's wound- it's definitely not standard nylon, and I've seen it on
some egyption ouds. It sounds like it's wound but a lot thinner. Any ideas?

Hello
May you precise the tuning you are wishing and the stringlength of your oud ( from nut to bridge ).
You can also have a look at Jamel Abraham website and Matthias Wagner in Germany, they propose readymade sets or may help you to make a custom set if
special need.

See Mari strings (use search in the forum). They are definitely great strings. Fat is not necessary the best (mostely whar feels fat is not carying
through space at all).
best wishes

Hi Ameer,
have a look in my shop or into the download section of my instrument pages. There you will find a lot of ready sets for different string length or
tunings. If you have special questions, give them to me here or contact me through my shop.
Best regards
Matthias
