I got this tool from a violin builder that passed away
Any Idea what it is good for and what is the name?
Thank you all!

Hi Yaron - it is a 'float' - a kind of 'single cut' rasp or file. The violin maker likely used it for cleaning out and truing neck joints(?).
Floats were used in various trades (e.g. gunsmiths, workers in horn etc.) but particularly by plane makers for shaping the bed and throat of a plane - the float cutting smoothly across the wood end grain .
A useful specialist tool.
