Abu Dhabi /Dubai

Hello,
I will be heading to the Emirates this winter vacation and wanted to know if anyone had any knowledge of:
1- Any events/workshops or oud or arabic music related stuff happening 22nd december - 09 january.

2- Are there an shops where I could find a decent collection of music books. (history, notations, etc..) not just beginer oud methods

3- Anyone want to jam? Always fun meeting players, picking up techniques and checking the ouds.

I Livein Dubai, There is a few music shops that sell good music books

Music Chamber - Crownplaza Mall 1st Floor Shiekh Zayed Road near Trade Center
Music Room - Jumeira Beach Plaza
Sing and Swing Music -1st floor Ibn Batutta mall China Court - Shiekh Zayed Road

When its oud, then its better to check Sharjah emirates near dubai. there is no good ouds in dubai
Beware Im telling you

In sharjah emirates you will find also the shop of Maurice shehata there AL ASSEL SHOP

and some good OUds made also by Salmeen kuwait.

Abu dhabi is kick ass, You can find bait al oud school from naseer shamma......
If You want to jam and know some oudist. Good for getting some OUD Tricks...

Yes I know about the salmeen issue. What I'm saying is that there is one shop there that sell the real salmeen ouds. and there is one oud there I like which sound good but sadly the rest are copy cats. and they are over price and RIP-OFF.

My kick is just Try Mr Maurice Shop Al ASSEL Shop. Just tell the cab driver to drop you at kuwait mosque and the shop is located near the fly-over bridge.

Books and Workshops your in the wrong country if you want those,, I was living in Dubai now I moved to the US and A hehe

I had so much problems finding music books in the past went to many libraries book stores Music shops I couldnt find what I needed were specific books for oud ,, Yes you can find a lot of collection of music books in Music Chamber Dubai honest best bet there but as in Workshops I would not bother looking for them I knew of one that was between Dubai and Sharjah advertising as the Nephews of Mohammed Fadel it closed down. Bahrain, Kuwait, and Iraq are the only countries in that region who realy build quality ouds and workmanship Dubai is sorry to say overpriced.

fhalaw I heard there are some people in Canada who build high quality Ouds and send them to the middle east do you have any information ?
