It looks like it could be original. But I have NEVER seen a Fadel oud in person, so I would not know 
Did you buy it? can we see pictures?
The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.

the middle says iraqi oud
last line has the date, 1980

but I'm not sure if this is original since what I came through for an original Mohammad Fadel has different label and has a serial number and the
manufacture date is written dd/mm/yyyy not only the year and it says "Mohammad fadel Al Hussain and sons" and the next line is "for musical
instruments and artistic carpentry"
then the address " Jadid Hasan Pasha 19/17 " then phone number (in 1975 was 82917) , serial number (in Feb 15th 1975 was 4217), then the date.
I have a photo of his original label but I didn't know how to upload it here
