Udi Hrant tribute video
I just wanted to mention that there is a great video tape available that I think has really slipped under the radar a bit. It is a concert video in
tribute to Udi Hrant on the occaision of the 100th anniversary of his birth. The concert is performed by Richard Hagopian, with superb supporting
ensemble, and the music is incredible. It starts out with a great version of Sevdaliyim, and just keeps getting better. The video was released at
least a year ago, and I never really saw it in any stores. It was released by Traditional Crossroads, and even though it is not mentioned on their
web site, it is available through them for about 20 bucks.
I am one of those people that cannot get enough of Hrant, and there is really nobody better qualified to pay tribute to him than Hagopian. By the
way, the video starts out with a really neat spoken letter from the 1970's from Hrant to Richard.

Hey,
I remember when the concert was coming around to various cities. Unfortunately I couldn't go, but my oud teacher did and said it was amazing.
I'm sure the video is great, I might just have to get it.
