Building a 7 course oud

Hi!
A friend of mine will build me a 7 course oud, and I wanted to ask some questions:
1)What are the bracing options for 7 course oud? what are the differences for arab and turkish sound regarding braces?
2) Is the half binding on the body suggested to use when trying to make a turkish sounding oud?
3) What is the suggested string separation on the body and neck, between courses and between strings?
4) Scale lenght: 60 probably sounds better than 58, but does it gets too tight for plucking with the risha, or that makes it easier to play fast and tremolos?
5) Neck shapes, what are the options?

My friend is a great great spanish guitar luthier and he surely could build a great oud without that much researching since he already have checked a lot of ouds, but I ask those questions so I know more about this and in case there is something I don't know but that you tell me and that could be helpful.

Thanks a lot!! the help is really appreciated.

answer to some of your questions.

1) this is a complicated subject but really your friend should research the bracing that is specificaly used for ouds. It depends on the type of sound sought after and the scale length.

2) traditionaly no half binding is used but some modern makers use it successfuly.

3) Nut total width is usually 4cm but you will have to widen for a 7 courses to be comfortable. Spacing at the nut between strings is about 1.5 mm between the pair and 5.3 mm between each course. At the bridge it can vary between 1.2 - 1.5 cm between courses and usually its 4mm between pairs of a course.

4) You shouldnt tune to turkish tuning on 60 cm. I would go 58.5 with a 7 course given thats a lot of string and tension can be an issue. Its also more versatile.

5) no sure what you mean by options.
