I've been working long and hard to create some dialogue between the Middle Eastern traditions particularly Arabic and Persian music.
There is not a lot of information about Persian music out there that is really good or that many people can comprehend so I have began writing
articles to delve into it a little bit.
The first article is about Hossein Alizadeh's Maqam Daad o Bidaad. I'm not sure many people know about this creation. It is unlike anything you have
ever heard before. I hope to shed some light on how Persian music works and relate it basic Arabic terms. Hopefully this will be helpful for those of
you interested in maqammat and Persian music.
It includes sound clips to help hear the music as well.
