What string set is this?
hi. I am desparately trying to find out what kind of strings these are... I think they are the same strings that Joseph Tawadros (Egypt 2004) was
using in his video in the VIDEOS section of this website...
Check this out... the 5th string is red, the 4th and 3rd are whitish (they are wound but not with metallic stuff.. it's very soft), and the 2nd and
1st courses are plain clear nylon...
WHO MAKES THIS? I'm dying to find out. It might be pyramid, but what kind? Is this Super Aoud? Or red?
I'm attaching a picture

Hey John,
That looks like the Egyptian made set. I think they're made in Alexandria. There might be photos of this set on ebay offered as an "Extra Set" with
some of the Egyptian ouds that are offered on there. But then again, if I remember correctly the 4th and 5th courses are both red, and there is no 6th
bass string. Actually, they usually keep the 5th course as a single bass string, and there is no 6th. So, I'm not sure what set this is.
Take care,
Mike
