traveling and managing humidity
Hi guys... i'm in a bit of a pickle and ANY advice would be very helpful!!!
I am about to pick up a wonderful Al-Turki oud while traveling in the middle east. It's nasty hot and humid here right by the sea; how do i make sure
my new oud doesn't sustain any damage in the next few days? i plan to quickly transport it north, where it is cooler and much less humid. but am
worried! at home i monitor humidity constantly, but here, i am moving around all the time! The oud is in a very well insulated but SOFT case.
any tips? (besides having a hard case made ASAP)
thanks!!!!

Don't forget, silica gel can be dried by placing in sunlight or an airing cupboard. Reckless people even use a low oven, not tried that myself.

Nothing reckless in drying silica gel in the oven. My late mother purchased silica gel in bulk (she did dried flower arrangements) and the mnufacturer
had directions for doing so (with an oven) on the side of the canister.

Ok I know this will sound silly but why not pad out the case with loads of
toilet tissue paper or even the softer hand tissues ? This may attract the humidity away from the oud. Yes? or am I being plain daft?
Best Wishes, Charlie
