My ASEEL Oud
Another great hit by El Aseel Maurice Shehata in Egypt.
Maurice finally finished off my Oud and it is ready to ship. Attached is a picture of two great artists!
The one who built it (our dear friend Maurice), and the one who tried it (Dr. Hussein Saber) in Egypt.
I can't wait to play it!!!!

Hey guys! I was wondering how much Maurice charges for a nice oud? Does anyone have a range.. if anyone does , it's you guys!

ASEEL OUD
Is it possible to post some pictures of this beautiful instrument, both front and back, fingerboard, pegbox, and shamsiya ?
Everything looks sooooo gorgeous on it.
Also could you post the dimensions ? it looks smaller and therefore may be more convenient for smaller people.

Hey egyptomar,
Maurice shehata has a website now with his contact information at http://www.mauriceouds.com. The website is in arabic. I just bought a rosewood oud from him and they are great. I'm pretty sure he will ship to
the states. Also, there are a few shehata ouds being sold here in the states. You might want to check those out at the ouds for sale forum.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I was away for a few days.
My oud finally made it and it sounds like MAGIC!
I will take some pictures and post them in the near future.
The size is the normal Egyptian one.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I was away
in Canada on a business trip.
I contacted Maurice for the specific materials I
wanted for my oud.These are:
The face is Cypress
The sound box is pelysender
The finger board and the pegs are ebony
The work is animal bones
BTW, it arrived and it simply sounds like MAGIC!
I do recommend Maurice as I think he is one of the
best makers in the world.

will take good care of you.
