SAZ Brand

Good evening.
I'm looking for a 13-string oud as a second oud.
I found one for around €500 from this brand (SAZ). But little else is known.
I have found these ouds in Greek, Turkish and German online stores.

Does anyone have any references? I know they're studio ouds and little else.
Does it come from a Turkish manufacturer?

The design is interesting, but I can't guess what what is that man doing.

Best regards.

Can you share a link? I'd be hesitant to spend that much on a factory made oud unless I can examine it in person.

I had one similar to this, not from this brand but a cheaply made all the same. It was not playable at all.

For that price, you should be able to get a decent oud from Zeryab or maybe Sukar.
Probably not 13-string though. Since it's a specialty item, most 7 course ouds are going to be higher end than that.

A 12 string oud can be repurposed to 7 courses if you just do the low F and C as singles - I think this was Joe Tawadros's trick.
You need a new nut and an extra hole in the bridge but it can work.

Thanks Brian, I'll think about what you said about changing the oud to 7 courses.
