Greetings from Ali Türünz - A few recent ouds from Faruk Türünz's workshop
Hi everyone,
This is Ali. I used to be around here many years ago under this username, though it’s been a long time. I actually tried to open a new account with
a more representative name (aliturunz), but I guess it’s better to stick to one.
When I first joined, I was really into trumpet and Les Paul-style guitar, which explains the username.
I’m Faruk Türünz’s elder son. I grew up around the workshop in Istanbul but went on to do other things for quite a while. Recently, I’ve been
spending some time around the shop again and reconnecting with the oud world.
I thought I’d say hello and share a few photos from a recent batch of ouds that came out of the workshop.
It’s nice to see the forum is still active after all these years.
All the best,
Ali Türünz

Greetings everyone,
We would like to kindly inform the oud community that we no longer have access to the old Facebook business page previously associated with the work
of the oud maker Faruk Türünz.
For updates, communication, new instruments, workshop content, and official information, please follow our only active Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/farukturunzoud_official/
Please note that this is the only official and currently active Instagram account managed by us.
We truly appreciate your support, understanding, and continued interest in Faruk Türünz ouds over the years.
Warm greetings and best wishes to all oud lovers and musicians around the world.
All the best,
Ali Türünz

My Faruk Türünz oud is still sounding and looking great after 14 years or so.
Why was the "Oud Master" website abandoned? I found it effective and easy to navigate. There are others like me who avoid using Instagram or
Facebook.

Hi Jody,
Happy to hear that your Faruk Türünz oud is still sounding and looking great after 14 years. The website needs updates with current products,
information, and recent work, and we are currently working on improving and renewing it.
Wishing you many more years of beautiful music with your oud.

If i'm not mistaken, the website has been down for over 1 year (maybe even 2 years).

You're welcome, Jody. Tulis, you're correct. The website has been down for quite some time. I am currently pushing to update and rebuild it with
current products and information, and I hope to bring it back in a much better form.
In the meantime, the official updates and communication are through Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/farukturunzoud_official/
All the best,

Ali,
Thank you for posting and connecting with our forum. I’m sure many like me have been curious of why the website has been down. I bought an Oud from
your father’s shop in 2009. Oud #15-3-09, Absolutely beautiful!! I bought it during a Ramadan 20% discount, so I got a great deal I go to Syria quite often, next time I would love to stop by Istanbul and
visit your shop.

Hi Edward,
Thank you your kind message! It's wonderful to hear that you are still enjoying your oud (#15-3-09) after all this time. Many people have asked about
the website over the years. It was offline for quite some time because my father had health issues and was not able to manage it those days, and
afterward nobody took over maintaining it. The good news is that we now have a brand-new, mobile-optimized website designed by a web designer. We will
tweak oudmaster.com over time.

Dear friends,
I’ve been updating our website and adding new social media channels.
My dad Faruk Türünz’s 2001 article is now available in English on our website, in an updated form: “A Scientific Method Proposal for Our
Luthiers and Universities: On the Footprints of 19th- and Early 20th-Century Oud Makers.”
You can read it here:
https://oudmaster.com/acoustic-innovation/
I’d love to hear your thoughts, comments, and feedback!
Best,
Ali
